Roger Churchward has taken out the 1500 metre gold medal at the Masters Games in Tasmania.
Roger Churchward an inspiration
It’s not a bad effort for a bloke who is 92 years of age.
Churchward crossed the finish line at 12:23:52.
Despite being exhausted Churchward still happily chatted to reporters after the race.
“It was a long, long way,” said Churchward.
“Just haven’t got the breath to keep going, the legs are a little bit achy but it’s not my legs so much I just get out of breath.”
“Usually I go about six kilometres once a week, but I only really run a third of the time and walk the rest.”

Churchward is an Australian Masters Games veteran having first competed in the Master Games in Melbourne back in 1995 when he was a spring chicken.
The team here at BeyondTheGame.TV would like to congratulate Roger on his sensational effort. We hope to see him back firing on all cylinders at the Maters Games next year.
